This is perhaps one of the best mobile phones for the mobile techie. In the US, Android devices are outselling the competition, and I suppose gadget retailers should take a look at the Excalibur.
I bought the phone and had to share this review of it that Redferret did http://www.redferret.net/?p=21015 which pretty much sums up my own experience of using the phone.
Thoroughly impressed. Easy to use, good clear reception. Great wifi and Bluetooth. Woks on both Networks in NZ (Vodafone and xt). Plenty of useful apps around, generally all free. GPS works great with google maps. Highly recommend
I have had this phone for months now and it still works^^.
i have ugraded it from 1.6 OS to 2.1 OS, i run Ndrive navigation on it(tom tom/navman etc) works sweet.
Very easy to work and navigate around, mulitple home screens are cool for all my access icons, saves scrolling down rows of icons, just a swipe or two of my finger and im at the one i want.
txting is smooth once i changed keyboard layout (big fingers) calling is also clear and have had no signal issues.
i constantly listen to music, watch my MMA vids or play games during my smoko's on it, with no lockups or glitches.
im a sheetmetal fabricator so my phone is constantly around machinary and welders, dust and high freqency power sources.
like i said "it still works".
it hooks into my WiFi as soon as im in range and updates my phone so im current with weather and sea conditions for instant "go for fishing".
For anyone in NewZealand: "YES" it works perfectly on telecoms XT network as well as voda and 2deg.
market place is a breeze to access, and being able to download other stuff via my pc and transfer to my phone is cool, as there is so much software out there for this type of phone.
All up its a great phone that can be changed to suit you and how you work, and being able to take a knock is a plus (dropped it a few times lol).
I think you will be very pleased with buying this phone, its "more" than worth the price tag.
chocolate cake for the chinavasion crew for bringing us this Smart Phone
The phone is indeed a nice Android experience. With this phone you'll get:
- Android 2.1
- All of the elements needed in a modern phone (G-sensor, sensitive screen, A-GPS, compass)
- Nice, crisp screen
Cheers Chinavasion!
