The lower value indicates acidity, and a higher value is a sign of alkalinity. To better understand the range in pH, take a look at these examples: apple juice 3, orange juice 3.5, coffee 5.5, milk 6.2, baking soda 8.5, soapy water 10, bleach 12.
Calibration:
1. Turn on the pH meter.
2. Dissolve each buffer solution in 250 ml of distilled water.
3. Immerse the electrode into the pH 6.86 solution (under the temperature of 25℃).
4. Press the “CAL”(calibration) button for 5 seconds and release；
- Display screen will start flashing “6.86”；
- Wait it until the display screen stops flashing；
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water and make it dry with filter paper.
5. Repeat the above steps with 4.01 pH buffer powder and 9.18 pH buffer powder.
Note:
Calibration is required in the following conditions.
- Lengthy periods of inactivity
- Very frequent use
- The testing accuracy requirement is very high
- The “cal” key was pushed and electrode exposed to air for extended period of time

Function of TDS meter
NSF International stated a TDS meter is not necessary. However, it can certify whether there are some excessive contaminants like heavy metals.

the water may be corrosive if the TDS level is very low. The corrosive waters may leak the toxic metals from the household plumbing.So, the initial recommendation would be to get your water tested and determine the general quality and chemistry of your water. Do this before consuming or installing your water treatment system.
