by Wayne L USA ![]() on 2023-07-25 09:37:06 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I was ecstatic to see a 40 lbs/500 yds line on sale for $6.99. Upon delivery, I immediately started testing it, as I have done with all my fishing lines, and I was able to break the line effortlessly on multiple attempts. There is NO WAY this line can hold 40 lbs and it even feels weaker than my 12 lbs monofilament Berkeley. Returning it. ![]() |

by Tex USA ![]() on 2023-07-20 01:46:22 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Bought the 10lb 8x strand braid and was all ready to put it on my reel when I decided to do a really quick weight test. Put a 5lb weight on the line...simple knot. Line broke with a slight shake. This line absolutely doesn't hold it's claimed break strength. ![]() |
by Eddie USA ![]() on 2023-07-17 03:26:53 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Was very optimistic about this line when I saw the pictures of how it didnt released any color and was abrasion resistant and the positive reviews. When it arrived i saw a big Made in China sticker...bigger than most "made in " stickers. When i was spooling my reel my fingers were left GREEN from the line. So much for the cheap color ink used. It also isn't as dark of green as the spider braid. The lines can fray if not cut with a very shard knife or scissor. Buy something else, havent had any breaks so far but quality seems very low ![]() |
by Mike N USA ![]() on 2023-07-15 02:59:42 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I ordered 2 days ago and received it very fast, so I gave 2 stars for the speed of delivery. 0 star for quality.I have not yet fished with these line, however, I wanted to test out the strength of the line before putting them on my reel by tying them to a 20 lbs dumbbell and attempted to lift up the dumbbells.Result: NEGATIVE!!!these line snapped before I can even lift the dumbbell off the floor. I ordered 40 LB test line for $11 and some change. I am able to lift up a 10 lb dumbbell with these "40 lbs test braid", but not 20...RETRY: Used 30 lb MONO berkeley from Academy- I tried to lift the same 20 lb dumbbell again with my 30 lb mono and I was able to picked them up without snapping and dragged them around the floor without snapping.I'm not sure if this is a bad spool I received or "You Get What Ya Paid For" situation, but I will not buy these again.Probably can use these braid on a smaller reel for bait fish or MAYBE I will try them out and see...I doubt I will be able to land a 30 lbs + fish (bull reds or small to mid size sharks) without the line snapping.FOR THE PRICE it's very affordable for 500+ meters = 500+ something yards, but WILL NOT USE ON BIGGER REEL FOR SERIOUS FIGHTING FISH. ![]() |
by Bobby Caldwell USA ![]() on 2023-07-13 20:55:45 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Are you guys using the same line? The color is great, bleeds very quickly. The line itself is absolute trash. It has snapped on all four of my poles when casting out with bait and a 2oz weight. ![]() |
by San S Siv USA ![]() on 2023-07-11 14:12:48 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Had to take out the line from spool, it was a little difficult to cast far with this line but for the price it was ok. ![]() |
by Amazon Customer USA ![]() on 2023-07-09 11:10:02 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() To all of the surf fishermen who are thinking of buying this, here’s a good breakdown of the line here. The cast-ability of this line is good, except for one drawback: wind knots. Wind knots are much easier to get with this line, while a higher quality line, like powerpro or tufline would not have this issue. Strength of the line is as listed, no problems with line breakage or wear and tear. Overall, a good easy fix if you need line, but if you go fishing every day, you’ll get tired of the repetitive involuntary knotting of the line when you cast. ![]() |
by Angel F Perez Jr USA ![]() on 2023-07-07 22:09:59 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Feels like a strong line, but started off by staining my fingers, rag and rod guides. I can only image what it will happen when it touches water. I think I’m going to return it. ![]() |
by Paul S USA ![]() on 2023-07-05 13:26:02 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This line works fine. However, the coloring they use certainly isn't permanent. When you handle it more than a couple of times, you get major stains on your fingers. When I put this line on my reel and used my fingers to provide tension during spooling, I noticed that my fingers were almost black from the color coming off. Never had this problem with Spider Wire. Seems durable, but if the color is coming off this quickly, it makes me question that assumption... ![]() |
by Kyle Bachmann USA ![]() on 2023-07-03 23:58:48 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The braided line is strong, however the black line is leaving a black dye on my hands and clothes. Not sure what is causing the color to remove from the line but is not working out. ![]() |
by Rchao34 USA ![]() on 2023-07-01 20:13:00 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Feels strong and I expected some color to rub off, however I did not expect a clump in the line, I nearly missed it until I saw it bulging out my reel. ![]() |
by Josh USA ![]() on 2023-06-28 12:32:19 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I've run in to several weak spots in the line, one causing me to loose my lure on a cast. The line is visibly inconsistent in color and thickness. ![]() |
by Wayne R. USA ![]() on 2023-06-25 10:55:53 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Right from the start of trying to put this on a spinning reel didn’t work it made a lot of noise I got a lot of blue dye all over my rod all over my hands I don’t know whether this is the coating they say is on it but I didn’t care for it and it breaks real easy. ![]() |
by Chopstick Avenger USA ![]() on 2023-06-20 12:30:30 | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I bought some braided line to get some more strength for the test weight. I've only ever used monofilament so this was my first soirée with a different material. I'm not exactly sure if this stuff is junk or if braided line is supposed to tangle easily but that's been my experience. I've had to throw away at least 20 yards of line because it manages to tangle itself after sitting still in the water for 5 minutes. If you're reading this, you're probably wondering if you should buy the line after you read my review. Maybe you should, maybe not. I could be using it wrong but it does tend to tangle easily. ![]() |
