I am pretty sure 30lb braid should be able to cast out a 2 or 3 ounce sinker, but it couldn't even handle that. The slightest abrasion to this braid, and it would just snap on the cast. Don't waste your money. |
by Steven USA on 2023-07-23 19:39:40 | | I bought the 20lb 8 strand braid in black. I knew that dyed braid would rub off onto your hands and equipment but not to the extent it did for me and my gear. Even after dozens of casts, I still find my eyelets covered in black residue and my fingers blackened.I also really wanted to test if it would truly be able to withstand 20lbs. Using a Palomar knot, I tied the braid to a carabiner and attached the carabiner to a 20lb exercise weight. Trying to slowly lift the weight, the braid broke 3 times, each at different points before finally lifting the weight on the 4th try.For a product with such high ratings and a decent price, I am truly disappointed. |

Daiwa lw20hc reel. 6, 4 and 3 oz all snapped the line (no birds nest, just took off like a rocket snapping the line)Didnt bother trying a 2 or 1oz sinker. |

My hands were black from the dye bleeding from the line. total garbage. I would return it for a refund but its spooled on several reels.Took it off of my reels and tossed the rest of it in the trash. |

It's an okay line for the price, but if it says 30lb test, make it 30lbs, etc. Don't lie to your customers. I have used other brands, such as H2O from academy and spider wire, and both were able to lift more than what they advertise. |
