by Diego Zenizo on 2011-02-23 13:42:30 | | Most complete Media CenterI previously owned a Buffalo Media Theather system, not quite as goos and a lot more bulky.
This unit is very compact, can have two SATA hard disks, one 2.5 inch internal, and one external. File transfer utilities are very easy and just imagine to have houndred of movies in a box about the size of your hand.
Playback qualitiy is exceptionally good.
This model can even be upgraded to have live feeds from China TV (and I suspect from others countries, but haven't had the time to investigate) and some other features, like Bit Torrent.
Strongly recommended for movie fans.

by Neil Gamble on 2010-09-14 16:28:14 | | Great so farI'm not using bit torrent or ftp with this device -- maybe I'm a simple user. But I installed a 2.5" HDD, loaded my videos & it's great. As others say, v. good video quality & easy to use. After following the readme.txt instructions for formatting the HDD (which loads bt & samba as noted in another review) the ddeice displays as an external disk drive in Windows & I just drag & drop content to the internal HDD. Really easy to use.
No problem with the connections for me - standard RCA jacks, HDMI, coaxial & optical port all available.
I only wonder what will happen if / when the remote breaks -- there is no other way to control the unit. Can I get another one somewhere? Or find out it's compatibility with pre-defined "universal" remotes?
Summary: For what I wanted the media player is excellent. Formats I want (avi mkv mp4) supported plus many more; simple connection to PC & TV. Good quality output on TV (I use HDMI connection).

by Thomas Kuhne on 2020-12-14 13:02:21 | | excellent productI received it and had initially difficulties to hook up the cables connected with the TV no line in or out just letters. also the manual
does not say anything about the connections. Anyway after connecting it in all possible ways it finally worked and it works very nice even pictures downloaded wire less from my laptop was a breeze. the clarity is amazing, much clearer than on the laptop screen. You have to get used to the remote controller but once you understand it its easy to watch download and setting up new features. Really fantastic player.

by Frank Young on 2021-01-20 16:57:19 | | worth the buyAltogether, this is a very impressive unit. It easily handled every video format i've thrown at it, including flash video (flv) which is hard to find support for in other branded media hdd units. The menus and setup are easy and the remote is fully featured. Overall video and sound capability is top notch. What isn't mentioned in the online specs, is that it does come with add-on software for setting up bittorrents and ftp/samba access. The unit's construction is top notch, solid brushed metal shell with adquate ventalation and internal cooling fan to keep your HDD cool. The included wifi usb dondle is ... well ... consider it a freebie and quality as such.
On the downside, i couldn't get the YouTube playback to work out of the box. This is due more in part to the shipped firmware, which has issues on slow bandwidth handling. However, this model (CVJI-E65) is also known on the net more commonly as the HD300A, for which there are more up to date firmwares/mods availble; fixes video streaming issues and added support for YouKu/PPS/etc.
Overall, worth the buy!

by Pierre Meijers on 2020-11-08 11:02:10 | | Fast deliveryPerfect player that I've received within 4 days. Plays allmost all formats including macTV (MP4). Subtitle font size can be adjust if you use a external srt file (with avi) for the subtitle.
Good quality, looks and feels solid.
Only remark is that the hdd-size (internal) can only be 2.5 inches. Ofcause it has to do with the small size of the player. The 3.5 size hdd won't and can't fit.
But you realy don't need a HDD in or attached to the player. Just stream it wireless from (home) network. It works perfectly. Even during the downloading I was able to steam (wireless) a movie from the same HDD without any problem.
