Its not very bright compared to your 60watt incandescant or your flouros. but this is a great light to have set up in the room with the remote next to your bed. you can read a book and when your done turn it off without getting up. the multicolors and "strobe" (changes lights every 1 second) is good to have for partys or to help set the mood. I found smashing the plastic cover off helps get more light out into the room but its still a fairly dim light. modern houses could get away with using like 20 of these in 1 room to give the same light as normal bulbs. its a great little gadget that i recomend

AND as soon as they get a bit hot they stop working correctly . they stop working with remote. so don't use it in a enclosed area. needs to cooloff

Be sure not to enclose these with your incandescent lighting, such as in ceiling mounts - the heat can kill one of these if left there for too long. I just bought 3 more to add additional light in my room.
