Android 4.0 Phone "Velox" - 3G, WiFi, 4.3 Inch HD Touch Screen

I had a problem with the phone (IMEI Problem) and I sent it to Chinavasion by local post. I was impressed with the after sales service that they offer.The long destination does not impair you from buying the products from China. It arrived from Malta-China (local post) in 15 days and it was delivered back to Malta (Europe) by China local post in 6 days in Christmas Festive Season. Amazing. Best value for money I've EVER got on an internet purchase. Great service - phone arrived in NZ a few days after ordering, didn't have to pay the taxes either, came straight to the door no hassle. This phone is absolutely packed with high end features that you pay a fortune for in branded phones. For average users the screen res is great, the CPU speed is great, the OS is great and all its features work exceptionally well! My only miff is the slightly poor battery quality, but hey, they give you two batteries to start off with so I can definitely live with that, and the cam could be upgraded to true 8MP and internal memory could get a boost as well. Having just said that however, all of those things will up the price of course and the current price/quality combo is what makes this deal outstanding all round. Absolutely chuffed!!

Took 10 days to arrive in UK which was good.

I bought this as a present even though my wife really didn't want to upgrade to a smart phone, but now she won't be without it! it does everything the dearer phones can do - ok maybe the cameras not the best but still usable. The screens sensitive and bright, had to figure out how to turn the volume up initially (now its like having Big Ben in your house).

Had to laugh as her mum was given a huge Samsung Galaxy recently and the Velox is just as good at a fraction of the price with her preferred PAYG sim. Although the battery can drop quickly with all the gadgetry turned on the Galaxy is exactly the same ;) its just how they all are I guess.

Anyway recommended, trouble is I'm tempted now as well. But which one as there are new one's out now?

after ordering the phone i received within 4 days. didn't have to pay extra for taxes.
the build quality of the phone looks sturdy.
the speed is excellent. a big improvement compared with previous phone
wifi is good, battery time is ok for a 2000mAh.

I ordered the Velux - and it took 10 days to get here to the UK ( I had to pay duty and VAT - £17.67 - before the post office would release it so add that into your cost!). It was well worth the wait. This is an excellent phone. Large screen, I can can actually read the keyboard! sending texts in no longer a chore. The sound quality of calls is clear. Wifi connection is incredibly fast - the camera seems OK to me some-one complained that it wasn't up the 8mp as claimed - but they look ok to me, - I'm not an expert - but hey ho for holiday snaps it's quick and easy to take photos. Haven't tried the music player yet, the headphones that came with the phone are definately naff - you need the ears of an elephant to use them. I've downloaded a few apps the only one I paid for wouldn't work but the freebies are fine - (lesson learnt!). All in all and excellent phone well worth the money. I had a Nokia N8.00 which I hated with a passion. - I sold that and put my money towards this - best thing I could have done.

Gran compra sin lugar a dudas. En 15 días en España por correo ordinario, seguimiento por Internet y sin pagar aduanas.

PROS: Rápido, pesa poco, fluidez de interacción, sonido alto (aunque de 10 le daría un 8.5 en la calidad del sonido a volumen máximo con música), pone que tiene 512 MB de memoria interna pero son 574 MB y además (y no entiendo por que no lo indican en las especificaciones) tiene 2.23 GB de memoria "USB" que a fin de cuenta también es memoria interna (tengo unas 100 aplicaciones instaladas y me sobra espacio), más la tarjeta microSD que tu le quieras añadir , la resolución de pantalla muy buena, la respuesta al pulsar muy buena, wifi rápido y buena cobertura, tiene impresión de ser robusto ( se me callo de una altura de 1 metro a la semana de llegarme y no paso nada).

CONTRAS: El GPS tarda bastante en sincronizar con satélites y si se tiene un programa que actualiza la posición de estos periódicamente, mejor; en mi opinión la cámara es de 3 o 4 megapixeles como mucho, e interpolada (los supuestos 8 megapixeles) solo es recomendable usarla muy quieto y con bastante luz, los led de flash podían ser algo más potentes (aunque tampoco están mal del todo), la bateria con mucho uso (todo el día que si Facebook, juegos, música, etc, es decir los primeros días de uso que esta uno más emocionado con el teléfono nuevo probando de todo) dura medio día, para un uso normal y cotidiano no esta mal, la duración de carga de 2 horas es tal y como indican pero he tenido otros moviles con poca menos capacidad y tardaban la mitad. Se echa en falta un botón para disparar las fotografías pero es algo más personal que otra cosa. La pantalla viene con un film protector que tampoco se ve muy protector que digamos y se raya con facilidad :P

En definitiva, si quieres algo parecido o igual a un Samsung Galaxy S2 o un Iphone 4, a excepción del procesador de doble núcleo, la cámara de fotos o de la pantalla a prueba de todo del Iphone, no lo dudes por que en prestaciones es muy parecido.

Para el que quiera una review más extensa y con explicación de modo Root y muchas cosas más encontré en google una por "REVIEW B79 MT6575 1GHz 512 de RAM 1 Giga de ROM."

It is a very good phone,for the money you spend its excelent.has everything,but not Greek Language.is there any chance to have an upgrade with Greek?

Good phone and nice size. Excellent HD screen. The wifi is quick and it's similar to using a Samsung phone so it should be familiar to the Samsung crowd. The only gripe is that the volume isn't that high for when receiving a phone call but it's acceptable. The back cover is flimsy and probably will break, but Chinavasion should have some spare parts for this phone. Nice and excellent phone and definately compares with the iPhone and surpasses in a few ways. Good stuff Chinavasion!

This phone has everything for this prize :) nice display, fast wi-fi, a lot of apps and more more things to do :) Its fast and the new android system much better than 2.3.4 :) i bought 2 "velox" for the prize of one iphone 4s !

I received my package from chinavasion.com through DHL in Nigeria in 5 days. What a surprise!!! it a fantastic phone i am yet to tour the phone yet.

Camera with autofocus. GPS more sensitive that Galaxy S. 575Mb Internal storage, 2.23Gb usb storage. Reads 32Gb micro SDHC card (not up to 16Gb). Use 2 "MTS" sims. Delivered to Russia in 15 days by EMS. EMS is sooooo slow, but at least it was not stolen or dismantled.

But there are a few things that need to know a potential buyer:
1. the screen is covered with a protective film, which quickly becomes covered with scratches
2. plastic cover is very thin and hooks can be very easy to break

I received this phone in 2 weeks in Romania. I use both sim (orange and vodafone) and works great. The wifi is realy fast! When I turn on the wifi, it take's aprox 5-7sec. to connect to know wifi. Browsing it's ok, I using Opera, and works ok. Photo camera is good for a phone, I am a DSLR user, so this pictures worth only for fun. LCD screen look nice, it's not very bright in full day light. The touch response is very good, my soon play all the games from android market. Writing text it's quite easy if your fingers are small enough. The battery last a full day playing with the phone (of course...with some pauses). The recharge takes about 7-8 hours, from 10% to 100%. Overall, you can also make phone calls with this device ;) - the only thing it doesn't do is to make coffee... My opinion is that worth the money, I am not the person to spend 500-600USD to buy Iphone or Samsung, just to drop it to trashcan in 2 years.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I own an iphone 4s. I stumbled upon this site by accident looking for a cheap phone for my daughter. I did my research and bought this phone hoping it would work in Australia no problem.
I got the phone delivered to my door in 7 business days. Bought a micro sim and all systems go.
Am so happy with the phone I was compelled to write a review here. I never write reviews!
If you want a brilliant phone, do not look past this phone. In all seriousness, this is as good as my iphone and is a bigger screen.
Now I am furious I am stuck on a Telstra plan with my iphone for another 12 months.

This is just a wonderful Hand-held Smart Phone. What a great deal.
My battery life is still longer than the others..I really like it . :-))
