Fitting the unit is no more difficult than any other after-market car stereo. The wires are well labelled and the connector is a standard ISO connection for the power and speakers. Some of the additional functions not in the ISO standard may require the wires to be connected using electrical connection blocks (available from any hardware store for a few pence!). None of these points are unique to this particular stereo and could be applicable to any stereo that you buy.

The screen on the unit is OK, but can become difficult to view in bright sunlight. fortunately you can change the angle using the supplied remote which helps in these occasions.

The DVB-T television works well (although don't expect to maintain a solid signal whilst moving!) and the DVD function works a treat.

The fun really starts though when you swap into the Android interface. You'll need to install any Android compatible sat nav software. I tried Co-Pilot but the maps have to be stored on the internal storage, which left almost no spare space for other apps. I have now installed the free version of Mapfactor (available on Google Play), which works perfectly and has more features than most of the paid for sat nav software.

Linking the unit up to my phone (by putting my phone into WIFI hotspot mode) means that the unit gets an internet connection, allowing me to stream within Google Play Music and Spotify. This will become even more useful when 4G is rolled out on my phone network later this year.

In terms of the processor, it isn't the most up to date or fastest processor on the market, but it is sufficient for media playback and for sat nav (both at once!). It does mean that it takes a few minutes for the unit to boot and there is another minute or so where it is very slow to respond to user input until it settles down.

Overall, the Road Veles offers excellent value for money for the huge range of functions that it offers.

* The unit arrived with a fault that meant that the bluetooth did not work at all. It is impossible to connect another bluetooth usb adapter to the unit, so I've had to purchase a separate bluetooth receiver and plug the audio output from that receiver into the aux input on the unit. Chinavasion suggested that I pay for a local professional to examine the unit (although they warned that opening the unit up would void the warranty) in order to check for faults. Obviously this is pointless and a waste of money!! My only other option was to return the unit, at my cost, to China. I appreciate that this is in their T&Cs, but didn't want to have to remove the unit, send it off, then have to refit it again, so I decided to put up with the fault. Chinavasion have given me £10 of credit to my account as compensation though.

* As mentioned above, the screen can be difficult to view in bright sunlight, easily scratches and the touch function is OK, but is not up to the standard of modern tablets or touchscreen phones. Not surprising though at this price!

* The limit amount of internal storage available to Android limits somewhat certain applications. For example, Google Play Music caches streamed music for when you have no internet connection, but this can only be stored on the internal storage, not the SD card. You can only get a couple of albums at most before the space fills up. This also limits the sat nav software that can be installed as they need to store the maps locally, but as stated above, I would recommend the free Mapfactor which can be stored on an SD card.

* Not all of the hardware is available to Android. For example, their is no bluetooth within Andoird. The BT can only be accessed through the WinCE inerface.

* Slow boot up of Android, but the processor holds its own after given a chance to settle down.

* The included remote is a generic remote and so the button labels aren't exactly intuitive. Read the included instructions to get a better idea. The remote is great though for anyone in the back seat to control media playback etc, otherwise, I would just stick to the touchscreen.

Amazing value for money. So much functionality is stuffed into this small single DIN package it is hard to believe. Virtually everything works very well. The radio, digital TV, DVD video, auxiliary video input, bluetooth handsfree all just work and are quite intuitive. The video playback is smooth and fluid. Android OS is fast and smooth, the WiFi functionality just worked, and browsing the web and installing apps from the Playstore on a car stereo is unbelievable.

The base OS being WinCE is a little laggy when navigating around the screens.
The one and only purpose I purchased this stereo to perform requires a bluetooth adapter, but unfortunately it seems that the advertised bluetooth functionality is not available to the Android OS. Customer support have been slow to respond and unhelpful when they did respond.

Retifica della mia prima recensione, ottimo prodotto, il programma per il navigatore GPS bisogna scaricarlo da internet tramite le app di google, il lettore e' compatibile con tutti i programmi con estensione APK, tutte le varie funzioni cioe' radio, tv digitale, dvd,bluthoot etc etc...funzionano molto bene, il touchscreen e' sensibile e funziona bene, le antenne gps e dvb-t funzionano bene....per concludere e' un ottimo prodotto ad un prezzo competitivo che solo e dico solo chinavasion puo' offrire.....grazie per tutto e specialmente per l'ottimo lavoro...stefano

l'unico aspetto negativo e' che non legge i blurey o mkv.....per il resto e' perfetto
