This is an excellent mop, not really a vacuum cleaner. I love it. I had to stop using my steam mop in the kitchen since the steam wound up ruining some of the grout, even though I was promised by the tile people that it was safe. So, I decided to try another mop, since our floor gets a lot of traffic and i don't find wet-mopping with a regular sponge mop to be effective. This is a fantastic mop, though. This picks up ALL crumbs, ALL little pieces that fall on the floor or track in (leaves, coffee grinds, little pieces of styrofoam from opening boxes, etc) and cleans with water and cleaning solution at the same time.If I notice some liquid that has dried (coffee? wine?), it only takes one or two passes over the stain to pick it up. It's runs long enough for me to do the kitchen and still run a pass or so through the wood or tile elsewhere on the first floor. It dries the floor by picking up the dirty water. It's so much better than a sponge mop. It does NOT clean as well as my floor steamer, which I LOVED until I noticed the grout becoming loose. However, it cleans ALMOST as well, is just as fast, and vacuums the dirt at the same time, something the steamer did NOT do.I have four cats and a lot of cat hair. I vacuum pretty much daily. I brush the cats but we have dust and fur. This machine picks it all up and deposits it in its own cup with other debris on the floor. We spend time on the deck, and the deck door is off the kitchen. No matter how much we wipe our feet, we track in a few leaves. I use this mop, ALL the leaves are picked up, ALL the cat hair is picked up, ALL the little crumbs on the floor are picked up. . . it's fantastic. And it's fast.Great item, totally recommended.
