I had a bad power adapter. Chinavasion sent another one, and it works, but gets extremely hot. I put a couple of small computer fans on it when charging. Keeps it allot cooler. Quickly recharges the battery. Chinavasion gets 5 stars for Customer Service. They also did not ship the Travel plug for the USA, so they sent one of those too. They were very helpful to me. THANKS!!!
I bought it because it has high capacity, and I wanted it for my Micro DLP Projector. Even plugged into the wall, it can cut the picture. Does not do that with the battery. Works with the cable that came with the projector, but I have to have the projector on and then add the cable to use, or it will look up the projector on boot up. But overall it works fine with no interruption of a movie.
I did some testing. I got 27 or so shows out of the battery. 10 on 100 percent. 10 on 75 percent. but only 5 on 50 percent, and at 25 percent I don't get a full movie before it is completely drained. S0 for me, it is not really accurate. Time-wise these are not full 2 hour movies, some are 1 hour 13 minute to 1 hour 20 minute animated movies. I did do several 1 hour 30 minute or so regular movies. So I figure about 34-35 hours total for my little projector. Well, that is not too bad, I get a little less than 1 month of movies at 1 movie per night. I am thinking either the capacity is off, or the USB port is giving more than 1amp. Or it is letting my projector pull a little more out of it. Because technically I should get at least 50 hours out of it, so it appears to be pulling around 2 amps, or the capacity is not accurately stated, or the battery's voltage is dropping more rapidly at the end. So, when it gets down to 25 percent, I will do my recharging, since it is basically empty.
Not complaining really, this is just my testing it out, and reporting my results. Other than that it is a good battery. Comes with a case, is big, but would fit in a backpack, briefcase, about 8 by 11 inches in size. A bit weighty, if you are a traveler, you might like to get a less capacity, but more portable battery, but this would work for most things. It did not have a tip for my Acer laptop, it fit but did not work correctly, I don't think the battery does the proper amperage and voltage combination, but that is not why I got it. I don't have a cell phone. So, the tips are not all that useful for me. But I do have a tablet, and several other small devices that would charge using the USB PORT. So, that is fine. My main purpose was my projector.
Having a USB port, as well as a DC port for the other tips, you can use other USB devices, like a USB LIGHT! During a power outage, you would have a little portable table light. Or, a USB FAN, power is out, and you are hot for example. A USB Cooler or cup warmer also. Or any other USB device.
Another way to charge the battery would be off of an Inverter. Like a Car Inverter. Since they put out 110-120volt AC. Just plug it into the Inverter as you are driving. Or if you have a small home solar charging kit. The solar panels charge a battery, the battery runs an inverter, and you plug this battery into the inverter. It would charge FASTER than using the battery's solar charging capability!
As for solar charging. I did get a little charge putting it under a 100 watt lamp, but it got very hot. In winter time here in Oregon, we get maybe 9-10 hours of light, so not really enough, in Summer time it might be over 12-14 hours, but it takes 50-60 hours to recharge the battery, so that is still 5-6 days. Maybe doable in a very sunny location like Southern California. But I think you could forget Alaska.
Works good for why I got it. Pretty happy with it. I could go someplace and show a movie with no wall plug. And not recharge it for a long time.
For my purpose, it is well worth it, and I am pretty happy with it.
