This device is excellent setup is easy exactly as seen in the pictures so far a joy in a box. Definitely your value for money.

What a gem of a little TV box this is. I'm extremely happy with the choice of this unit, it was quite easy to setup, found the WiFi network without a hitch and it was a breeze to connect it to the network. And the packaging is very good and quite attractive. If you've already had experience with other Android devices then this will be quite easy for you. Even if you haven't, I find Android to be quite intuitive anyway, so you should be able to master it relatively easily.

I run a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device and connected this unit to the network to run videos from the NAS and it works like an absolute charm. ES File Explore is pre-installed making navigating the network a breeze. I use ES File Explorer on other Android devices, it's free and it's brilliant.

There's already video software built-in so you don't need to install any additional players. Most of the time I use the ES player (part of ES File Explorer). Clicking on the video file gives you a choice of players to use. Depending on the file type you may need a different player. To play flv files I installed VLC Player via it's apk (the program's separate installer file, easily downloaded from the web).

Check out the specifications and you'll see just how versatile this unit is. It plays a huge array of file types and has plenty of ports to use for different purposes. I've actually got it connected to a widescreen CRT TV via the RCA cables. If you know anything about CRT it's that the resolution is usually quite low (usually about 640x360 or 640x480 if 4:3). The beauty of this unit is that it easily, and without any slow downs, plays Hi-Res video without any problem whatsoever. It basically seems to convert them on the fly to playback on the CRT, and it does it with aplomb.

The only issue with using this unit on a low res CRT is that the font is quite difficult to read, but of course, on an LCD or LED screen that won't be an issue. There is an option of enlarging the font, but that doesn't help much on the CRT. It's certainly no fault of the TV box though, it's one of CRT technology.

I also connected a portable DVD drive (the type you'd use on a laptop or netbook) to it via USB and played Hi-Res xvid video files from the disc and it worked flawlessly. The unit recognises USB devices as portable media, i.e a flash drive, so the only thing I had to do was to mount the DVD drive and it worked a treat. Simple.

The remote is very good too, it has a mouse function so if you get tired of moving the cursor around with the buttons the mouse function makes it much easier. It's not quite as precise as if you had a mouse connected, or even using a touchpad on a keyboard, but for what it is it does the job very well.

If you don't own a Smart TV, or can't justify the expense of buying one, this unit will transform your TV into one and turn your TV into a full multimedia centre, potentially saving you quite a lot of money.
