Poseidon - Waterproof 720P HD Sports Action Video Camera with Remote Control

For the price this is an awesome camera. The mounting hardware and rechargeable battery (included) are almost worth the price, never mind the camera. This camera can be attached to just about anything. Video quality is more than acceptable - a 120 degree FOV with no chromatic abberations. My only complaint(s) - the mic is not sensitive enough, and the cam creates a new file on the memory card for every ~5 minutes of footage.. so video editing is required to create a clip > 5 minutes. See my review on the Xdreme camera__I purchased the Poseidon camera as a second camera and because of the remote control as the camera will be in an out of reach position on my kayak. Initial Setup of camera was easy and no need for LCD screen. I did not need to install the driver on my PC. The buttons on the camera work good and no problems unlike the buttons on the Xdreme camera which can be temperamental. Although only 720P against the Xdreme 1080P the playback is very good, a little brighter in contrast and a slightly fish-eyed. Being AVI format a file can be transferred to your PC then to a USB flash drive and played through any HDD player with no problems, whereas the Xdreme is in MOV format and needs to be converted for HDD players but will play on the PC. As per most waterproof cameras the inbuilt microphone is useless. Unsure how the top plate and screws will survive a salt water enviroment, I may have to paint them to stop rust? On test I have found no problems editing mixing/cutting together the Poseidon and Xdreme files in the NCH program, one slightly brighter and slightly fish-eyed but this does not matter as the cameras face in a different direction on the kayak. The only problem so far is that I cannot see the recording light flashing when recording on the kayak and the "Beeps" are inaudible and it's a bit of a guessing game to know if you are in recording mode or not!!! Overall I think the Poseidon camera will mix in well with the Xdreme camera.

Após instalação: Plasticos que me parecem pouco resistentes. Instruções no manual muito limitado. Não indicado para uso nocturno mesmo no automovel com farois ligados.

Achei os acessorios de plastico fragil, principalmente a mudar para o apoio para usar no carro.. mesmo a camara em si. Vamos ver se é resistente no seu trabalho. O que falta mesmo é a visão noturna.

Overall quality is quite good with this camera, lots of options to mount it on everything you can imagine.. Made some nice inflight cockpit video's with it. I had to pump up the volume of the audiostream quite a bit to bring it in balance.. but once done that the audio quality is OK. Another thing is I had to convert the videofiles first to wmv using moviemaker, before I could edit in Camntasia.. this reduced the sharpness of the video quite a bit!.. check out this video I made during a local Glider flight with the camera mounted to the cockpit canopy with the suction cup mount. http://youtu.be/LrodojolKV0
